Amador Valley DECA Hub is run by Amador Valley DECA student officers. This page explains, in plain language, what the site stores and why.

What we collect

  • Your account details. Your name and email, from the Google account or email address you sign up with.
  • Your chapter and role. The chapter access code you joined with, and whether you're a student member or an officer.
  • Your progress. How much of each video you have watched and which resources you have opened, plus the last time you were active.

We do not collect payment details, addresses, phone numbers, or anything you don't enter yourself.

Why we collect it

Progress tracking is the point of the hub: it lets you pick up where you left off, and it lets officers see how the chapter is preparing so they can plan practices and check in on members who might need help. It is not used for grades.

Who can see it

  • You can always see your own account and progress.
  • Chapter officers and the advisor can see members' names, emails, progress, and last active date.
  • Other students cannotsee your information. The server blocks members from reading each other's accounts.
  • We do not sell or share your data with anyone else.

Where it's stored

Accounts, progress, and content are stored with Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, and Cloud Storage). Access is restricted by security rules so that only signed-in members of a registered chapter can reach the videos and study materials.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember your light or dark theme preference. If chapter analytics are enabled, we collect anonymous page-view statistics to see which resources get used — never anything that identifies you personally.

Bot protection (reCAPTCHA)

To stop automated attacks — guessing chapter access codes, creating fake accounts in bulk, or scraping the video library — this site uses Google reCAPTCHA v3 together with Firebase App Check. It runs invisibly: there are no puzzles to solve and nothing for you to click. To decide whether a visit is coming from a real browser, reCAPTCHA collects device and usage information and sends it to Google, subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We use it only to protect the hub — never to profile or track you.

Students under 13

The hub is intended for high school students. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will remove it.

Deleting your data

Email avhsdecaprez@tvrop.org from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will remove your account and your progress record.
